My wife and I along with another couple visited for five days. We have been to multiple.RIU resorts in many different tropical locations, and I’ve never been dissatisfied. Staff was very attentive. Everything was clean. The food at this particular hotel was better than the others we have been to. Nightlife is crazy fun. There is a shared area between the RIu Peninsula Palace and the next door RIU Caribe with an outstanding outdoor party venue. We attended three different rocking parties there. There is a walkway between the two locations. We heard while we were there that this RIU Peninsula Palace hotel was going to close for most of the summer and be totally revamped. I was kind of surprised because the grounds and hotel looks to be in pretty awesome shape already. But apparently some infrastructure needs redoing. Will be interesting to see how they redesign it.

5 Stars+ Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not our first time at a Riu, and it is by far one of the very best experience. 1. Entertainment team gave their everything to make sure that each visitor have a great time. Their games & activities made our stay enjoyable and glad to see so much participation. 2. The by-the-pool service was excellent, we were asked many times, if we wanted more drinks, which we really appreciated. Food was available by the pool, with a chef making burgers, or you could pick a small plate from the lunch buffet. Either way, options are unlimited. 3. Food at the buffet was excellent, more varied options for Dinner, breakfast pretty much the same, but delicious regardless. 4. Riu party (Jungle & White) were fun, definitely a must if you are staying there. Very well-organized with a few pleasant surprises. 5. Water seaweeds were frequently cleaned by the hotel. Most times, you don’t even see them which is awesome. 6. We got the ocean-view room and the view is fantastic and the daily room cleaning had been our likings. These were just a few positives, I could go on and on. Overall, fabulous experience and a must stay if you are in Cancun.

We didn’t know what to expect, a group of 9 just left Saturday. And we were all extremely pleased with the overall stay. Food some great, some mediocre but overall two thumbs up. Service of staff was exceptional! The grounds are beautiful, and large lush scenery not had at most hotel zone hotels. Our friends stayed in main building, we stayed in adult only villas. Now rooms are a bit dated but they are getting an overhaul this spring. We had a great time. Would recommend!

Amazing hotel with fantastic staff, all so friendly and can’t do enough for you, whether it’s pool service drinks, fetching sunbeds for anyone late to the pool or maintaining the grounds (which are immaculate). We were in an adults only villa, which was perfect with a beautiful view and jacuzzi on the terrace. Some reviews mention a damp smell which there was when we first came in, but after opening the balcony door and unpacking our stuff, the smell had completely gone. The all inclusive drinks and food are good quality and plentiful, probably one of the best we’ve had. We ate at most restaurants (no booking so first come first serve). The steak and Japanese restaurants were good, buffet and Italian restaurant were excellent, Kulinarium was exceptional. The entertainment was great, day and night and we were blown away by the Riu Parties next door at the caribe which were spectacular. There was one down side and that was some of the other guests. Not the hotels fault but, especially after the Riu Parties, there were very loud American voices until the early hours and beyond, and this wasn’t youngsters on spring break, it was adults with no consideration. A bit of a shame really as everything else at the hotel is absolutely perfect and the staff are an absolute credit to Riu.

The service was exceptional! Every team member was pleasant, friendly, and attentive. We got the signature massage and it was one of the best I have ever had. The swim up bar is heated which is awesome. The resort has a nice layout making it easy to navigate. There were always plenty of chairs around the pool and the beach. The buffet had some different options daily and also the regular items you could count on. Most of the food was good. The resort could use some renovations but it didn’t interfere with our stay.

It is a nice RIU overall. Food is very salty - it seems that at times, someone takes a handful (or a box of it) of salt & just drops it on. Horrible! Elevators are so useless & scary to ride in - they Crack, pop, and make you feel like you are going to fall into a chasm. They are horribly dark & difficult to see the floor numbers. Food buffet areas MUST have hand sanitizers mounted at every food station - gross - not to! How much does that cost.... instead of going home with foodborne illnesses...... lots more to be said... Bathrooms by the beach need paper to wipe hands - not just hot air. Not to have paper in bathrooms - it's ludicrous. Hopefully the reno - will provide the expected & much needed improvements.

Very enjoyable stay at the Riu Palace Peninsula. The service overall was excellent with staff eager to make sure your holiday was enjoyable (particularly impressed with Marcello who provided an excellent drinks service at the adults pool and always done with a smile). The location is quite away from any facilities, but a relatively cheap taxi ride takes you into the centre of Cancun. Rooms were very clean with the maid service being extremely thorough. Rooms a little tired, but apparently having a refurb soon. The Shower cubicle was very large with a very powerful shower, which together with the internal jacuzzi bath provided excellent options. Entertainment was excellent, with a very talented Entertainment’s Team. The only disappointment was the lack of anything on the evenings of the Riu Party, which was very much geared to the younger guest and therefore left the older guests with little to do. Food was very good, with a good variety in all of the restaurants, including the buffet. Ironically our only disappointment was the Mexican food, which we looked forward to, but found to be quite bland compared to what we are used to.

Resort is very clean, the smell was pleasant. People were always cleaning, check in was a breeze, luggage was taken to our room. At the front desk they ran thru the map and where to find things. Doris from house keeping was excellent in service and left our room clean and very respectful. Food was good but not excellent. Some items could use some work but with the options on the other restaurants you have options . Pools were clean and beach was clean and the service was probably the best . Everyone was quick and at your service . Riu party was so much fun . Went to the all white and the neon party and both were so much fun . We went to a few shows on the resort and it was great time to spend and watch something new. I would recommend exploring this resort . I do plan to explore their other location like Riu Cancún and Riu Caribe and others.
